Sundays, November 22 & 29 | 2:00–3:30 PM | $75
Light up your mantel this holiday season with a little village of your own! In this two-part workshop at Riverside Artist Studio in Sunapee Harbor, you'll create a glowing clay tea light house modeled on a favorite building in town or on your very own home. Cut-out windows and doors let the candlelight shine through, for a warm, cozy glow on a winter evening.
In the first session, you'll roll out a clay slab and cut and shape the face of your building, adding details like rooflines, steeples, chimneys, and windows. Bring a photo of the building you'd like to recreate, and we'll help you turn it into your design. Between classes, your piece will dry and be fired in the studio kiln. In the second session, you'll return to glaze your house in the colors of your choice. After the final firing, your tea light house will be ready to pick up and display.
Your finished house makes a thoughtful handmade holiday gift, a sweet keepsake of a family home, or the start of a Sunapee village you can add to every year. No previous pottery experience is necessary. All materials, firing, and instruction are included. Come spend two cozy Sunday afternoons in the studio and leave with a one-of-a-kind light for the holidays!
