Intermediate Crochet: Modern Holiday Stocking

Give the trusty Christmas stocking a modern twist! In this intermediate workshop at Riverside Artist Studio in Sunapee Harbor, you’ll crochet a chunky, textured stocking, about 18" tall, using cozy super bulky yarn that works up quickly and looks beautiful hanging by the fireplace.
During this hands-on class, you’ll learn and practice front and back post double crochet to create a rich ribbed texture, work in the round from the toe up, and shape the heel and boot of your stocking. With guided instruction along the way, you’ll build skills you can use on future crochet projects. You’ll also learn simple ways to personalize your hanging loop with or without pom poms.
Students should be comfortable with chains and double crochet. All materials and instruction are included. Come enjoy an evening of creativity and leave with a handmade stocking that’s ready for the holidays, or one you’ll be excited to finish at home!
